UNC-CPE Annual Methods Symposium
Annual UNC Center for Pharmacoepidemiology Methods Symposium
The Annual UNC CPE methods symposium is a two day event with representation from UNC-Chapel Hill and CPE member companies, providing an opportunity to discuss current and pressing methodological research topics for the utilization of real-world evidence. Recordings of the sessions are accessible to Center members (by year – see dropdown menu). Previous symposium topics have included:
2024: External control arms, Challenges and solutions in time-to-event analysis, sensitivity analyses for unmeasured confounding
2023: comparator issues, external comparator arms, target trial emulation, AI and machine learning, and pooling and harmonizing data
2021: FDA draft guidance on RWD, molecular epidemiology & omics, bridging the communication gap with non-epidemiologists, methods related to use of EHR data, external control arms, and COVID-related impacts on data quality and solutions.
2020: Analytical methods, using linked EHR/claims data, treatment effects in real-world populations, ICD-9 to ICD-10 transitions, and bias reduction methods.
